How can i get my hair hair to stay straight!?

My hair will NOT stay straight! I have used practically everything out there. Sunsilk straighten up did not help, neither did herbal essences straight ahead. I have used a variety of styling products for blowdrying and hairsprays. Typically, I shower at night and straighten my hair in the morning. Then after about an hour it isn't really curly again but it gets a little wavy. Also I have a calic where my hair won't part right and my hair is wavy right at the root so it is impossible to straighten. My hair is getting damaged from all of my heat styling. It is breaking and tangled. I would like to try and wear it curly some of the time, but it is too frizzy and damaged. Any suggestions on how to straighten it without damaging, how to repair the damage, or how i can wear it curly better (I have tried curls rocks and pantene styling products for curly hair). ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED! =]

I've got the same problem! It's all in the method! Use some Infusium leave in conditioner, and some frizz ease, or some other kind of molding puddy.. before you straighten it, it's always helped me!

bain de terre is a professional product that is fabulous for curly hair..i know they are changing over their bottle look so if you can find it in a salon you might beable to get it for cheaper..but their stuff smells sooo good and its awesome..otherwise go to your hairstylist, if you don't have one, find one! lol..and ask her what you need to be using and have her suggest a good flat iron as well..you just need to invest in something a little bit better..

I don't think its possible to have permanent straight hair unless you are born with it. Even all the celebrities don't. If you want straight hair you have to keep retouching it over and over again, and that could lead to major hair damage as you have described. If you don't want to bald by 20 then i would advise that you give your hair a break and stop trying to style it. If your really in hot water then try seeing a hair doctor.

First of all you need to use ceramic hair straightners which do cost more but work better in the long run.

Paddle straighners for curly and long hair work better as they don't damage your hair as much.

If you prefer to wear your hair straight most the time - get it chemically straightened - 1 harsh treatment and then you will rarely have to straighten your hair and you will only need to heat treat it when you want to go curly again.

To repair your hair i would suggest hot-oil once every couple of weeks

Its ok. Get your hair trimmed ASAP! and the get an anti- frizz serum like the John Freda. Use a heat protectent like the Tresamme heat defeander spray. Get a good straighting product (shop around and look for something to put in your hair before you dry it). Use teh MAtrix Sleek collection if you can afford it ( its avalible at salons). Use a flexable hold hairspray like the dove flexible hold aerosal spray. Get a good straightner (if you dont already have one)

To heal the damage use the dove damaged hair collection. Get the shampoo and conditioner. I would stick with dove

:) I have the same problem as you. hmm well first off, buy two things: tresseme heat protectant like $5, to reduce damage on hair and buy some sort of hair repair conditioner to also repair split ends and if worse comes to worse use a hairspray that doesnt make hair hard like some tresseme holds. or do what I do and sometimes embrace the fact that you have wavy hair and just scrunch it to make it curly some days. sometimes I even wear my hair wavy to school, and two years ago I would NEVER NEVER not in a million years done that but I was just like screw it my hair sucks and there's nothing I can do about it. and in colder weather your hair will stay straight longer so don't worry :) and plus your friends and teachers and family love you the way you are, straight hair or not
