Damaged Hair Help?

I have very damaged hair and need some help. I have dry, curly hair naturally. I got a curly perm to change the curl pattern to something more flattering which left my hair very dry(didn't work by the way). I dyed it black. Later, I had red highlights put in. The highlights were splotchy and terrible so I had corrective color done which required bleaching and regular one-process coloring. I got it cut into a chin lenth bob to try and remove most of the damaged hair, but the hair that remains is still badly damaged. I used Kerestace (sp) shampoo, conditioner and protective serum before drying my hair. For styling, I roll my hair wet on plastic roller and sit under a bonnet dryer. To make it look neater, I use a flat iron or curling iron. SO-the problem is that my hair looks terrible all the time. It lays there like a lank an damanged. I have tried all sorts of styles, but it always ends up frizzy and stiff. My Solution: wearing a ponytail and waiting for it to grow.

towel dry hair after the shampooing. apply conditioner (wait either the 3 minutes or over night). rinse and blowdry 1/2 way. roll hair and finish blow drying. let cool. rub some pomade in your hands and finger comb your hair.

STOP with the flat iron! keep the curling iron on low if you HAVE to use it. the pomade will help get rid of some of the frizz so it's more neat and tame.

heat takes away moisture. think of the desert.

Hot oil works wonders for my hair. Wonders

what u should do is dont let your hair stay under the dryer so long then it wouldn't frizz up

You're using too much heat on top of all the damage from the coloring and perming. You need a good leave in conditioner and to leave the heat stylers alone. Try to heat style every other day instead %26amp; your hair's natural oils will aid in the healing process.

Honey, I have been there. I had all of my hair cut off, and found that it is actually more flattering for me. My hair is naturally curly also, and I hate it . So after blow drying I use a flat iron to straighten it. I have been bleached and high lighted and everything else you can do to kill your hair. My hair was falling out by the roots, and it was shoulder length. The only thing I could do was have it all cut off and let it start fresh. My hair is now similar to the hair on my Avatar, maybe a little shorter, lots of layers. That helps manage the curls. Good luck.

Biolage has a great line for damaged hair and curly hair. Mine is curly and I wear is straight most of the time because it is hard to control my frizz. You should give your hair a break and stop dying it. Use some deep condition treatments for six weeks and go grom there...

Wow sounds terrible, I would leave my hair in peace for a couple of months just using a very light shampoo and coditioner. Try to cut it again and use a short style hair, then once you hair gets long cut it again, cause it is the only nature way to take the damage out, dont use more chemical products because your hair is gonna get worse. I have very long hair with a very good look and I only use shampoo and conditioner.

Good Luck

Damaged Hair Help?

Every thing you are doing to your hair is damaging it even more.

For instance, is your protective serum an oil base or oily product? If it makes your hair glossy and your blow drying it... your pretty much 'cooking' you hair... what happens to oil when you add heat? ah! You see where I am going with this?

Try deep (and I mean DEEP) conditioning it two or three times a week, stop using heating tools (curling irons, flat irons, blow dryers ect) because applying heat to already damaged hair is ONLY drying it out even more. Also be careful of putting your hair in a ponytail too閳?it also breaks the hair by pulling it back and keeping it back. (that閳ユ獨 my problem) try and keep it lose or at the very least a very lose ponytail.

I understand where you are coming from閳?I have SO been there and done that. Maybe you should talk to a professional hairstylist. (One who has been in the game for YEARS) about correcting the PH of your hair閳?but be careful because if the girl doesn閳ユ獩 know what she is doing your likely to lose your hair if the PH is done to high. But if she knows what you are doing she'll know that you need a lower PH. (maybe hair grow pills might help... i have never used them and know nothing about them, maybe ask a Yahoo!question if they work?)

Girl, i wish you the best of luck... and speedy hair recovery.

Ohhhh my!!!! Sweety, you are definitely doing to much to your hair and at such close intervals, that if you dont stop it, let it and the color grow out, you are going to end up with extremely thin and still very damaged hair. What I do, since we cant all be like Jennifer Aniston or Lopez and have 5000.00 $ treatments to our hair is I definitely DO NOT wash it everyday. I wash %26amp; condition every 3 days and it works remarkably. The day that I wash it, I wash twice and leave conditioner in while I wash my body. Then I turn the water temp to a luke warm and rinse the cond out as well as my body. When Im finished, I take a SMALL dab of cond and rub it thoroughly through my hair and towel dry. Yes, I leave it in. But the amount of cond has to be very small. And another thing is to keep your dead ends cut. Which you can basically do yourself. One more thing STOP using all that heat!!!! Turn the heat on your blow dryer to a low heat and dry your hair at a downwards streak. LOL!!!!

your hair is damaged from over processing i cannot believe a hairdresser actually did a corrective colour when it must of been in bad condition to start with what i suggest and its not expensive is buy some australian 3 minute miracle conditioner soak your hair in it and actually leave it on for about 20 minutes you could also wrap a hot towel ( wet a towel with hot water and ring out ) wrap this round your head and leave this will then act as a deep conditioning treatment do this every other time you wash your hair and keep getting it trimmed and this should get condition back in it

Damaged Hair Help?

Stop blow drying your hair.Heat will cause hair damage, plus your using a lot of chemicals to your hair which caused more damage. You need moisture for hair. You need to add a hair cream or hair dressing to your hair and scalp at least twice a week until it becomes healthily again. Also start messaging your scalp with the hair dressing or cream to stimulate the hair follicles.
