How can I curl my hair, and keep it curly?

My hair doesn't like to curl, and stay like that. I have really STRAIGHT hair, and when I do curl it, it turns wavy. Does anyone know how I can style my hair to be curly, and stay that way?

Perms are PERManent. For a temporary solution, first use a light spritz of spray gel on your whole head, then make your curls and after each section you curl, use a finishing spray.

If you want curls like Jessica Simpson that aren't so "ringlety" like you would get above, her hair stylist, Ken Paves, uses a spray gel, but wraps the hair around the barrel of the curling iron, NOT using the clamp at all, holds it there for a few seconds, then uses a finishing spray. It takes some practice when you get to the back of your head, but it looks great!

If you do, condition your hair every day! A perm will dry your hair out.

if you have naturally straight straight hair, then it's going to be very very hard to curl your hair and keep it that way. You could try to start using shampoo that helps put curl into your hair, or your best bet would be to go to a salon and ask for a tight curl perm. My mom is a hairdresser, so i know what i'm talkin about when i say that it's gonna be hard to keep curls in your hair all day without using two cans of hairspray on it.

I have poker straight hair .I either use a thermal curling mist (spray on)with a curling iron or I use those soft curlers that you twist your hair on.They are something like a pipe cleaner inside a material wrapper.I roll it dry on those things

Either get a perm which is way drastic.Or get one of those Caruso Hair setters that set your hair with steam. also try that hair setter that has those long thin tubes.I've got straight hair and these two hair setters I just mentioned really work for me . Perms?No I just end up looking like BOZO.

Ever heard of a diffuser? you can get them at wal-mart in the hair dryer section. First get a type of mousse and flip head upside down and apply all over the hair take your towel and scrunch the hair upwards. Use the diffuser, scrunch the hair up and hold it there for a few seconds and repeat all over head. Then apply a hairspray thats strong hold but flexible. this is the way I used to do my own and it worked for me. Good Luck
